Medtecs SCOPES Initiative: SPREADing Holiday Joy to Kids in the Philippines
The Selfless Contribution of Protective Equipment to Society (SCOPES) program institutionalizes the Company’s donation of PPE and medical supplies. Medtecs employees from the Makati office and Bataan factory came together and crafted eco-friendly gift packs—made from recycled shoe boxes—to bring holiday cheer to 200 children from the Special Program on Relevant Engagement and Advocacy for the Displaced (SPREAD) and the SOS Children’s Village.
Protecting the Oceans with Team Medtecs
Medtecs has been offering paid volunteer leave once every quarter since 2022. Taking advantage of this heartfelt policy, we organised employee beach cleanup events at Nanya Rock in Ruifang and Qianshui Bay in Sanzhi. Our team worked together to pick up litter along the coast—everything from plastic bags and bottles to cigarette butts. We filled bag after bag, collecting around 150 kilograms of trash in total. Not only did we restore the natural beauty of the coastline, but also strengthened our understanding and engagement in protecting the environment.
Taiwan Pandemic Crisis Support
At the end of May 2021, Taiwan experienced its first major COVID-19 outbreak. Overnight, the demand for PPE exploded and the Group responded in record time, shipping much-needed PPE and other medical supplies back to Taiwan by air to hospitals, clinics and those in need. In just 25 days, we distributed five million pieces of PPE from five distribution centres around the world.
